What is Texshare?

The TexShare card program is a reciprocal borrowing program. Registered users must obtain a TexShare Card from their home library before they are able to check out materials from other institutions.  Current Schreiner University students, faculty, and staff may request a TexShare card in person at the Library Services Desk. Cards are only valid for one semester.  Materials borrowed on a TexShare card are subject to the lending library’s policies and must be returned in person or by first-class mail.  Search for participating TexShare Card libraries on the TSLAC web site.

How Do I Get My TexShare Card?

TexShare cards are issued each semester to currently enrolled students and currently employed faculty and staff. There are two ways to request a card:

  • Eligible patrons on campus may request a TexShare card in person at the Library Services Desk.
  • Eligible patrons taking online courses or studying at a First-year Campus may submit a completed online TexShare Request Form to receive a TexShare card in the mail.

ILL Services for Distance Learners

Unfortunately, Interlibrary Loan (ILL) cannot send physical resources belonging to other libraries to a home address. All ILL loan requests must be picked up in person at Logan Library. If you are learning online or through a Regional Learning Community, you may still request articles and book chapters through ILL for delivery to your university email account. For either an article or a scanned book chapter request, please submit the online Interlibrary Loan Request form and select the appropriate options for resource delivery.
