University Publications
Campus Connection
This newsletter,
originally named Staff Council News Blurb, aimed to keep the campus
informed of specific events, employee benefits, and arrival of new employees
at Schreiner. It included human interest articles, quotes, birthday lists,
and other items to bring the Schreiner family closer together. Archival
holdings include Aug. 1997 to Apr. 1999, and Sept. 2000 to July 2002.
Campus Currents
The
original monthly newsletter used to keep the communitiy informed of events
and activities at Schreiner College. The archives holds issues from its
beginning in 1992 to 1997, with a few scattered issues missing. In 1997 it
was renamed Inside Schreiner.
Inside Schreiner
Since
1997 this renamed newsletter has kept the Schreiner community up-to-date
on events and activities, as well as offering news about Schreiner
programs and the occasional story from staff, students, faculty, or
friends of Schreiner. The archive holds issues from January 1997 to April
2004 with a few missing issues here and there.
Scene
In
1975, the Schreiner College Bulletin: Ex-Student Issue was renamed
Scene. Our holdings include 1975 to 1997 (with a few missing
issues) and 1999 to 2003.
Schreiner Catalogs
The
archive holds copies from 1923 to the present.
Schreiner Finder
The
'picture directory' for Schreiner College, Schreiner Finder served
as a convenient way for the campus community. The archive holds copies
from 1989 to 1998, as well as fall 1999, and fall 2000
directories.
Schreiner Institute Bulletin
We hold every issue 1923 to 1996.
Student Handbooks
Schreiner Institute: Currently we have
only scattered years of these handbooks. Our holdings include one with no date, and the following years: 1959, 1961,
1963, 1965, 1968, 1970, and 1973/74.
Schreiner College: Usually called the "Schreiner Calendar and Student Handbook." Our holdings nclude 1984/5 - 1986/7, 1990/1 - 1997/8, and 1999/2000 - 2000/1.
Schreiner University: We currently hold 2001 to the
current year.
Schreiner Recall Yearbooks
Schreiner Institue began publishing a yearbook in 1926, and the tradition
was maintained until 1981, when Schreiner phased out all of its secondary
school course offerings and became a college. It was also not published in
1944 or 1945 due to the resource-saving efforts of the war era. Holdings
include all years 1927-1981, except for 1944, 1945, and 1976-78.
Staff Council News Blurb
Renamed
in 1997 as Campus Connection, this newsletter kept Schreiner campus
aware of events and the appearance of new employees on campus. Archival
holdings include v. 2, no. 5, 7, and 8 (1996) and v. 3, no. 1, 2, 4-6
(1997).
Student Publications
Literary Magazines
Parade: Schreiner's first student literary magazine. Our holdings include 1932 to 1941 (except for the 1938 edition, which was not published), 1955-58, 1961, and 1968. The Parade ceased publication in 1970
Syzygy: Created to replace the Parade. Syzygy was only published 1977 to 1979, when it was renamed The Muse. We hold copies of all three years.
The Muse: First published in 1980 as the renamed student literary magazine. Our holdings include: 1980, 1982-86, 1988-2004.
Student Newspaper:
The Mountaineer
The Mountaineer has been in existence since 1925, but appears to be originally named The Maroon and White. Our holdings currently include three 1925 issues of The Maroon and White" from 1925. Our holdings of the Mountaineer are as follows:
- Oct. 1925 to Dec. 1931: All issues
- 1932-36 and 1938-46: Scattered issues
- Apr. 1950 to Dec. 1973: All issues
- 1974-81 and 1986-1992: Scattered issues
- Mar. 1993 to Nov. 1997: All issues
- Feb. 1998 to Feb. 1999: All issues
