The
Hill Country Collection houses a select collection of
books, photographs, documents, papers, and other
archival material about the history of the Texas Hill
Country.
The
Texas Hill Country is defined to include the following
14 counties:
Bandera,
Blanco, Burnet, Comal, Edwards, Gillespie, Kendall,
Kerr, Kimble, Llano, Mason, Medina, Real and Uvalde.
Currently,
the collection focuses primarily on materials about the
settlement of Kerr County and contains approximately 320
linear feet of printed material and 10,000 photographs,
in addition to a small collection of audio-visual materials
and letters. Eventually, papers, letters, records, photographs,
and diaries of businesses and people who lived in the
Hill Country will be added.
