• An adjustable-height computer workstation is located near the Reference Desk.
• This workstation consists of a 19-inch monitor, a flatbed scanner, and a PC loaded with a variety of software, including Kurzweil 3000, OmniPage Pro, Office, and Internet Explorer.
• This computer does not require a login and password.
• An additional installation of the Kurzweil software is available on the computer in Room 108 to the left of the Sun Porch entrance.
• Books that have been are scanned onto a CD can be read to the user by the Kurzweil 3000 software on these machine. More on using Kurzweil 3000.
• Headphones are available at the Circulation/Reserve Desk.
  

• Schreiner staff, students and faculty have access to a variety of audiovisual equipment including cameras, including fixed and portable media presentation systems, digital still and video cameras, digital video and still editing software and workstations, video and audio duplication services. Personalized instruction is also available.
• This equipment can be reserved 24 hours in advance by contacting Dan Brown at 792-7431 (ext.431 on Campus) or 739-1774 (Cell Phone) in Weir 008.
• The audiovisual equipment found in the Library is intended for in-library use only.

• Room 113, a small group-study room located two doors to the right of the entrance to the Sun Porch contains a CD player with a 1/4'' to 1/8" headphone jack on the front.
• The key to this room and a set of headphones may be checked out to Schreiner students, staff and faculty for a period of 3 hours.
• Please inquire at the Circulation/Reserve Desk.

• At the Circulation/Reserve Desk, Schreiner students may check out wireless laptops for use on the campus wireless network.
• These laptops may also be used off-campus without internet access.

• At the Circulation/Reserve Desk, Schreiner students may check out microphones for 3 hour inlibrary use use with computers.

• The Multimedia and Instructional Learning Lab is located near the Reference Desk. This room houses a variety of computers, a scanner, and a small colleciton of educational resource materials.
• These computers are loaded with creative and productivity software and provide wireless access to the internet.
• Printing is not available in the MILL.

• Printers for networked computers in the library are located at the Circulation/Reserve Desk near the entrance to the building.
• Printouts cost 5 cents per page for black and white and 15 cents per page for color.
• Students logged in to their Schreiner accounts have multiple printing options and need to review these choices carefully BEFORE printing anything.
• Printing accounts for students begin with a five dollar balance at the start of the semester. When this amount is expended, students may add monies to their account by asking for assistance at the Reference Desk.
• Community patrons must obtain a temporary login at the Circulation Desk to use a computer to make printouts.
• If a computer does not require a login, users must pay for printouts with cash or check at the Circulation/Reserve Desk.
• Printing Tips:
  • Select Print Preview to view the document BEFORE sending it to a printer.
  • BEFORE clicking on Print, review the list of printers available.
  • Save a copy of the document to a removable drive and/or your network space.
  • Email a copy of the document to yourself before printing it out.
  • Replace all of your floppy disks and CDs with a removable drive.
  • Not all software has the same printing options. Know your software capabilities.

Room 160, a small, reservable classroom, located at the end of the north hallway, is equipped with a lockable lectern, a laptop with a wireless mouse and speakers, and a DVD/VCR and LCD ceiling-mounted projector system with remote control. It also has a projection screen, a "smart" board, two white boards, a desktop PC station, and videoconferencing equipment.

• The key to the lectern must be checked out at the Circulation/Reserve Desk.
• To learn if Room 160 is available for use, please inquire at the Circulation/Reserve Desk.
• If Room 160 is not reserved, students may use this room for viewing videos and DVDs.

The Scarle Philips Room, a large meeting room, is equipped with a lockable lectern, a laptop with a wireless mouse and speakers, and a DVD/VCR and LCD ceiling-mounted projector system with remote control.

• The key to the lectern must be checked out at the Circulation/Reserve Desk.
• To learn if the Scarle Philips Room is available for use, please inquire at the Circulation/Reserve Desk.

The Sun Porch Electronic Classroom is equipped with 12 networked computers loaded with Microsoft Office, Windows XP, Internet Explorer plus some additional software. A ceiling-mounted projector, a pull-down projection screen, and a portable instructor's station with laptop are also available. Inquire at the Reference Desk for more information.

The Library has multiple scanner stations available for use by the Schreiner community.

• Two HP flatbed scanners are located in the Multimedia and Instructional Learning Lab and one scanner station is located just outside this room.
• The Library also has a UMAX 11 x 17-inch large format scanning station with film/slide scanning head, and a Minolta PS 7000 open-faced black and white document scanning station. These scanners may only be operated by Library staff members.
• If you are interested in using the staff-operated equipment, call 830-792-7312 or ext. 312 or inquire at the Circulation/Reserve Desk.

Schreinerr staff, students and faculty can purchase Microsoft Office and operating system software at the Circulation/Reserve Desk.

• A tape player/recorder is available at the Circulation/Reserve Desk for 3 hour in-library use.
• Additional equipment is available from Instructional Technology in Weir 008.

• A TV and DVD/VCR station is located in Room 112, a small study room located to the far right of the entrance to the Sun Porch.  This room is available on a first come, first serve basis.
• A small TV on a mobile cart is available for use in the Library. Please ask a staff member for assistance as this item is kept in a storage area.

• Headphones are available at the Circulation/Reserve Desk.

Two electric typewriters are available for patron use. These machines are located in the Copier Room near the Periodicals Reading Area.

The campus has a closed wireless network for Schtriner student, staff and faculty use only. The general public do not have access to this network.
