How to use TILT

What is TILT?

TILT: Texas Information Literacy Tutorial is a shared resource maintained by the University of Texas System.
TILT is designed to help you learn how to locate, evaluate, and use information for academic research.

After you register and complete the introductory module, you can choose to complete any or all of the following 3 modules:

  • Module 1: Selecting -- describes how to choose resources appropriate for academic research -- Quiz 1
  • Module 2: Searching -- describes how to search library databases and the Internet effectively -- Quiz 2
  • Module 3: Evaluating -- describes how to locate and evaluate print and online sources -- Quiz 3

Time required: Allow 30 minutes per module

There is a short online quiz at the end of each module. Complete the Quiz Summary online and email it to your
instructor, or print it out.
