Using Library Computers
NOTE: Users of library computers may not install software, save to the C: drive, download files, or send & receive e-mail (except with an Internet e-mail account such as Yahoo! Mail). Students have web access to their Schreiner e-mail accounts via the Library's home page.

The Library has computers with Internet access available for patron use. Resources such as the Library's catalog, full text article databases, and dozens of informational pages are accessible through the Library's web site.

For Schreiner student use, laptop computers and wireless NICs are available for checkout at the Circulation/Reserve Desk near the main entrance to the Library. The wireless network covers most of the campus.

Six (6) computer stations with access to the Internet are located in the main part of the Library near the Reference Desk. Five of these machines also have been loaded with MS Office.

An ADA-compliant workstation with access to the Internet, MS Office, Kurzweil software and OmniPage Pro is also available in the Reference area.

Twelve (12) computer stations are located at the far end of the main part of the Library in an area referred to as the Sun Porch Electronic Classroom. These computers are loaded with Microsoft Office applications, some specialized software, as well as Internet Explorer.

When not scheduled for instructional use, the Sun Porch machines are available for use by all. To schedule use of the Sun Porch Electronic Classroom, instructors may call ext. 319 or stop by the Reference Desk. For bibliographic instruction, please contact a librarian to schedule a class time and date.
