Basic Parts of a Citation in APA Format
  • Author last name and initials of first and middle names.
  • Publication date in parentheses.
  • Article title with only first letter capitalized of main title and subtitle.
  • Version statement in square brackets if electronic.
  • Journal title in italics and with all important words capitalized,
  • Volume number in italics,
  • Page numbers for first and last pages of the article separated by a hyphen.

Basic APA Format for a citation in the Body of a Text
